Storm Damage Assessments

We can provide assessments intended to provide various levels of information to suit our clients’ needs. The most basic of these is to determine the relative safety of a structure after a catastrophe. We can assess the damage to determine the relative extents of damage to the structure. More specific investigations can be conducted to identify distress both related and unrelated to a storm event.

Level 1 Damage Assessment

Level 1 Damage Assessments are structure condition assessments that are intended to quickly evaluate a structure and provide opinions regarding the extent of major damage to a structure related to an incident or event. This assessment is the first step to repairing a damaged structure after a catastrophe and can be used by a restoration contractor to obtain a demolition permit.

Level 2 Damage Assessment

Level 2 Damage Assessments are structure condition assessments that are intended to quickly evaluate a structure and outline the damages observed to a structure, noting whether the damage is structural or non-structural. When possible, the report will address whether specific damage is related or unrelated to the event and an opinion will be rendered as to the cause of unrelated damage. This assessment is appropriate when the reparability of a structure is in question or if there is a question as to whether certain damages are related to the event.
