Hurricane Preparedness

We can evaluate an existing structure to identify potentially susceptible structural and building envelope components in the event of a hurricane. We can perform engineering analyses of existing components to determine conformance with current wind and design provisions of the building code. We can provide recommendations intended to minimize potential damage to susceptible structural and building envelope components.

To prepare older structures for hurricane conditions, we can produce engineered drawings plans for strengthening and hardening existing structures intended to minimize the impact of hurricane conditions. We can monitor and certify construction activities intended to strengthen structures against the potential affects of hurricane conditions.

Upon implementation of hurricane mitigation measures, we can provide inspection and certification of the work performed. In order to receive credit for hurricane mitigation measures implemented on your home or building, many insurance companies require that these measures be certified by a licensed professional. The ERT can inspect and certify your hurricane mitigation measures for compliance with your insurance company’s requirements.
